Random post - Finally watched Alien Romulus

I got halfway through this when it arrived on D+, but found the characters too dumb for words and the whole thing far too contrived with too many callbacks and quotes (with scenes where the audience obviously should be impressed at references from other films). But I thought I'd try and get through it, since Alien Earth looks interesting and watching half a film seems a waste of time.Anyway, the third quarter of the film is really great, super tense, and far less annoying than the rest of the film. Also some really interesting takes on how Aliens 'work' (or really, really don't work and you shouldn't use them on space stations). But the end was a let down. I really dislike Alien 4, and this was too much of a rehash of it. But hey, I got 1/4 of a decent film. And I really get why people really like this film as some of it was gorgeous.
